Earlier this month we were extremely flattered to be nominated for the WordPress Family Award. Just when we thought our excitement couldn’t get any greater, we found out that we’ve been nominated for another honour this morning: the Liebster Award.

John Heatz, a talented writer with an amazing gaming site, chose 1001-Up.com for the Liebster Award today. We’re so grateful to be nominated by someone who is a big part of the WordPress family and always has a nice word to say! A massive thank you to John, along with everyone else who has supported us since the beginning of this year; every day we meet new, wonderful bloggers and we’re continuously inspired by this brilliant community.

We’ve done some research on the Liebster Award but unfortunately there seems to be no definitive information about its origins. The one thing that everyone seems to agree on is that it’s awarded to ‘up-and-coming’ bloggers, and the German term means sweetheart, beloved, favourite or dearest. Whatever it is and however it started, it’s an absolute honour!

There also seems to be no consistent set of rules for nominations, so we’re going to go with those John has given on his blog:

  • The award logo must be displayed on your blog.
  • You must thank the person who nominated you.
  • Write eleven facts about yourself.
  • Answer the eleven questions posed by the person who nominated you.
  • You must nominate nine others for the Liebster Award.
  • You should then create eleven questions of your own for your nominees to answer.
  • We’ve now completed the first and second rules so onto the remaining. Because 1001-Up.com is a team of three of the kindest, most dynamic, best-looking individuals (even if we do say so ourselves) out there we’re going to do our post in a slightly different format.

We're feeling even more elated than Ben Affleck.

Rather than bombard everyone with so much information about each team member, we’re going to split the questions between us and will be posting articles over the next few days. In the meantime, we’d like to thank all of our lovely followers for their support once again; and if you happen to be in London on Saturday, 02 November 2013, we’d love to see you for a drink at the WordPress Family Meet-Up!
