Blog of the year 2013 goes to…

Update at 11:22, 17/12/2013:

We’re absolutely chuffed to be nominated for a fourth Blog of the Year Award by the amazing The Dad, Gentleman Geek. Here’s a guy who’s so modest he doesn’t even realise how good his own writing is: as we’ve said below, we love his opinions and he’s a thoroughly nice chap in real-life too. It’s an honour to be nominated by someone who we consider to be both a talented blogger and a good friend.

Blog of the year - 4 Stars

Update at 10:35, 15/12/2013:

Just when it couldn’t get any better, the fabulous (we’ve upgraded him from just ‘lovely’) Kevin from The Mental Attic has nominated us for a third Blog of the Year Award! As we’ve said in our post below, he’s always so dedicated to whatever he’s writing and you can’t go wrong by checking out his blog. Anyone who can write that well on so little sleep deserves a look.

Blog of the year - 3 Stars

Original story at 13:55, 14/12/2013:

Well it’s not us, but we have been nominated for another award: Blog of the Year Award 2013 by the amazingly dedicated John Heatz from JohnHeatz.com and the ambitious Drakulus from Drakulus.com. As per the rules of the nomination read on to find out who we’ve nominated in return.

Title - Blog of the year goes to

We’ve had a healthy year of nominations starting back in September with a nomination for WordPress Family Award, followed by the Liebster Award, Versatile Blogger, and more recently the Sunshine Award. The bloggers we’ve met over the last year have welcomed us to the community with open arms and it’s been a pleasure getting to know and work with them. We’ve made a lot of new friends a long the way, and we wouldn’t have come as far as we have without them.

The Blog of the Year Award 2013 is slightly different to other nominations as it allows blogs to display how many times they’ve been nominated through the use of stars, with six to collect in total. Each time you are nominated you can add another star until you’ve collected them all. Our previous awards are displayed on the right but it doesn’t indicate how many times we’ve been nominated, so it’s easy to lose track of. So don’t be afraid to nominate a blog even if it already has been once as we’ve done below.

She almost has as many awards as we do.
She almost has as many awards as we do.

Now we move onto the rules of the nomination before revealing our nominations:

  • Select the blog(s) you think deserve the Blog of the Year Award 2013
  • Write a blog post and tell us about the blog(s) you have chosen – there are no minimum or maximum number of blogs required – and ‘present’ the blog(s) with their award
  • Let the blog(s) that you have chosen know that you have given them this award and share the instructions with them
  • Come over and say hello to the originator of the Blog of the Year Award 2013
  • You can now also join the Blog of the Year Award Facebook page and share your blog posts with an even wider audience.
  • And as a winner of the award – please add a link back to the blog that presented you with the award – and then proudly display the award on your blog and start collecting stars.
  • Blog of the year - 2 Stars

So without further delay here are our nominations for Blog of the Year Award 2013:

  • The Archaeology of Tomb Raider – There’s always something interesting to read about outside of gaming, and we’re big Tomb Raider fans as well!
  • The Dad, Gentleman Geek – We love the way he writes and he’s a really great guy in person too.
  • The Mental Attic – Kevin is always so dedicated and very detailed with his writing. His passion for his work always shines through.
  • Nostalgia and Gaming – It’s amazing what retro gear Jay can find, it always takes us on a nostalgia trip when we read his work.
  • Why is this Trending? – Finally after playing video games for so long on various platforms, it’s finally good to hear the hardware’s take on human beings instead of us reviewing them all the time.
  • There are so many amazing blogs to choose from and we would nominate all of those we’ve come across if it were possible. Everybody on our Big-up deserves an award too for taking the time to follow our little website. A big thank you again to John Heatz from JohnHeatz.com and Drakulus from Drakulus.com for the nomination, it means a lot to us!

I’m just waiting for Kanye West to bust in right about now…

      1. You’re welcome 🙂 I’m really happy for you… I’ll let you finish but Tomb Raider 2 was the best game ever.
